On Saturday, February 2nd, the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore teams participated in the D.C. Polar Plunge to support the Special Olympics. The team, led by Justin Rogers and Mike Strickler, included Elizabeth Carp, Alex Schueler, Scott Sacks, Gregory Jones, Rick Haley, Amanuel Dankul, Barry Baltrusis and Nick Oleski. The team raised $7,750, and the event raised over $200,000 with donations still coming in. SP+ finished as one of the top five teams…great team building, good times and a very notable contribution to a great cause!
Clean Up Day
On March 29th, three members of our Washington, D.C. Maintenance Team, led by Dennis Lorance, volunteered their time for Clean Up Day at the James E. Duckworth School. Our maintenance team worked to power wash the outside and other areas of the school to give the outside a well needed cleaning and updated look.
On Friday, April 12th, 27 members of the Washington, D.C. office cheered on students at the James E. Duckworth School for Challenge Day. The students participated in Special Olympics activities such as ring hockey, basketball and other activities. The students showed off their personal best which was both rewarding and motivational. SP+ members who participated include Justin Rogers, Scott Sacks, Michael Strickler, Alicia Newman, Kerima Mohammed, Rick Haley, Elizabeth Carp, Raven Purvis, Gregory Jones, Ryan Girard, Kevin Carr, Dominick Bruno, Jorge Grillo, Tedros Kassa, Cleveland McClory, Moulou Hagos, Dawit Mehari, Dennis Lorance, John Hughes, Eric Gonzalez, Laura Holman, Amanual Dankul, Matt Witt, Joel Reyes, David Blosser and Crishna Andrew from RMR.
GMU Fairfax Campus Clean Up
Also on Friday, April 12th, 37 members of our SP+ Parking Services team at George Mason University participated in the university’s 5th annual Fairfax Campus Clean Up. SP+ has participated in this event each year to assist with campus outdoor cleaning responsibilities. Great job team keeping George Mason University looking so clean!
